Over the years we have welcomed teams from Australia, New Zealand, England, the West Indies, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, the Isle of Man, and from across the USA and Canada. Virtually every team that has participated in VISAS has made a return trip to Victoria - we consider that to be the best testimonial to the success of this festival. We believe the formula is simple: fast exciting cricket, a beautiful city, teams from around the world, a well-stocked refreshment tent, and a hardworking and prepared group of hosts virtually guarantees you'll have the time of your life." |

Click Here Almost thirty years later the festival, which started as a one-time event, has become an annual event with as many as 130-boats participating from all over the world. The list of awards has risen to as many as 28. The Best Restored Power and the Best Restored Sail awards have, in particular, shown the incredible dedication of individuals to the preservation of our maritime heritage. Unlike other festivals of its type, the festival is free to the general public thanks to the generous sponsorship of Victoria area REALTORS® (members of the Victoria Real Estate Board) and Black Press. This stability of sponsorship and a close working relationship with the City of Victoria’s other maritime organizations, particularly SALTS and the Maritime Museum of BC, has enabled the festival to become a major event in Victoria’s summer calendar. |

Click Here Castaway Wanderers Rugby Football Club, is a member of the Discovery Street Sports Club in Victoria, BC (along with Castaways Cricket, and the Castaways Football Club). We are members of the Canadian, British Columbia and Vancouver Island Rugby Unions. For the 2006-2007 season (September through May), we will be fielding teams in the Provincial Premier League, Vancouver Island Rugby Union First Division, British Columbia Rugby Union Junior and U-14 teams. We will also be running a Mini Rugby Program. |
